    I didn't need a separate partition, it just made a folder named "PS3" Alan Yea thats the same as me-But previously i had partioned my external drive originally from my 80GB PS3 so that half exterjal it was NTFS-which i could store stuff from my pc-videos music etc and the other half to FAT 32 which i was just backing up gamesaves on from my PS3.
